The letters, serving as an acronym of the Association, are encircled in a spherical domain cast in Pantone 2718U; this sphere represents the microcosm of English Language and Literature Teachers and the literary, linguistic, and didactic world in which the two related disciplines are set.

The first letter, "E", which represents English, is displayed in a celebratory nuptial script in Pantone 032U and takes a dominant position within the sphere. Below that letter and to the left of it is the letter "L", representing Language in Bodoni MT Ultra Bold; another "L" in Arial Black represents Literature. Cutting into the letter space of the two "L"s is the wispy white letter "T" in Sand script representing "Teachers"; its soulish form suggests creativity and those intangible attributes that good teachers have. The letter "A" in Trebuchet Black MS script has multiple symbolism as it represents the "A" in Singapore, "A" in "And" which serves as the conjunction joining Language and Literature, "A" for "Association" and "A" for the preposition "At" which locates the Association within the Republic of Singapore.
